Home and Away wedding day drama as Harper doubts marrying Tane
Are the couple about to hit the rocks?
Home and Away's Harper Matheson faces a life-changing decision as her wedding day finally arrives.
The Summer Bay soap airs a huge episode as Harper must choose whether to go ahead with marrying Tane Parata, despite her doubts.
Viewers have seen Harper and Tane plan their future as a couple since discovering that they're expecting a baby together.
The pair are strong and united when it comes to practical matters concerning their unborn child, but things aren't so rosy when it comes to their own relationship.
For several weeks, Harper has struggled with the knowledge that Tane doesn't seem to have any genuine romantic feelings for her.
Harper is painfully aware that Tane has never declared his love for her and the atmosphere between them is often awkward when it comes to romantic matters.
In scenes airing on Australian screens this week, Harper's sister Dana and Tane's best man Cash Newman are both stunned to realise that the supposedly happy couple haven't prepared for their wedding rehearsal.
Dana once again tries to give Harper some home truths, despite previous warnings from her sister to stop meddling.
There's another difficult moment for Harper when she stumbles across an old photo showing Tane with his first wife Felicity, who died last year.
As Harper reflects on the obvious happiness between Tane and Felicity, she knows that their own relationship doesn't compare.
Jessica Redmayne, who plays Harper, told TV Week magazine: "Harper is coming to terms with the fact she deserves to be truly, deeply loved.
"Her relationship with Tane seems to be loveless and lacks any passion, which is exactly what his relationship with Felicity resembled."
On the morning of the wedding, Harper changes into her beautiful dress but Dana notes her lack of enthusiasm for the big day.
Will Harper back out before she makes a decision she'll bitterly regret in the future?
Home and Away airs these scenes this week in Australia and in May on Channel 5 in the UK.
