Home and Away character exits after three years – with replacement confirmed
All change in the Bay.
Home and Away star Kirsty Marillier has left the soap after three years in the role of Rose Delaney.
Kirsty's final scenes aired in Wednesday's Australian episode (March 19) as Rose bowed out from Summer Bay to take on a new job.
In recent weeks, Australian viewers have seen Rose hand in her notice at the Yabbie Creek police station.
Rose was ready for a fresh start after landing an exciting promotion in the city, where she'd be working as a detective for the first time.
She'd been inspired to apply for the position after her brother Xander recently decided to pursue his business ambitions in Melbourne.
Wednesday's episode was a time of change for the Bay, as Rose worked her last shift as senior constable in the local police force.
Fortunately, there was a well-trained replacement ready and waiting to step in – Rose's colleague Cash Newman is being promoted back to the senior constable role now that she's leaving.
In her final day, Rose shared some heartfelt final moments with her ex-boyfriend Mali Hudson on the beach as they reflected on their past relationship.
Mali admitted: "Look, I know we didn't end up where we wanted to, and I definitely could have treated you a lot better."
Rose quipped: "There was room for improvement. But you've got a second chance with Abigail now, so try not to stuff it up."
Later, Irene Roberts, Bree Cameron, Kirby Aramoana and Remi Carter were all present to wave Rose off as she drove away from the Bay for the final time.
Kirsty had played the role since early 2022, when Rose joined the show alongside Xander.
The popular star's departure was first rumoured last September, when fans realised that she'd signed up for two major theatre jobs for this year.
