Next week on Home and Away: Harper and Tane's relationship hits a rough patch

 Can they make things work?

Home and Away's Harper Matheson finally acknowledges that there are problems between her and Tane Parata on UK screens next week.

The Summer Bay social worker opens up over an awkward atmosphere between her and Tane, even though they're supposed to be a couple.

Harper and Tane are committed to co-parenting together as they're expecting a baby boy following a one-night stand last year.

Despite their success with making plans for their unborn child, Harper and Tane are finding it much more difficult to define the nature of their own relationship.

In next week's Channel 5 scenes, Harper admits to her sister Dana that the situation is getting tough to handle.

Harper explains that she's finding it very difficult to connect emotionally with Tane.

Although Harper would like to enjoy some quality couple's time with Tane, it seems that he's too obsessed with her pregnancy to focus on anything else.

Dana suggests that it might be time for drastic action by banning any talk of the baby for 24 hours.

Harper is intrigued as Dana points out that this will give her and Tane an opportunity to get to know each other.

Sadly, when Harper unleashes her challenge on Tane, it only leads to an awkward silence between them.

It suddenly dawns on Harper that her initial friendship with Tane mainly centred around his dramas, including the baby kidnap case and his subsequent mentorship arrangement with Perri Hayes.

In contrast, Tane doesn't know much about Harper and it's difficult for the conversation to flow freely between them now that his life is more settled.

Battling through their difficulties, Tane and Harper agree to sit down for lunch together.

The pair seem to grow closer as Harper finally gets the chance to tell Tane all about herself. Have they finally reached a breakthrough?

Home and Away airs these scenes on Thursday, February 27 on Channel 5.
