Home and Away's Bree Cameron to make emotional promise to Remi Carter
Will she start to turn a corner?
Home and Away airs a possible breakthrough for Bree Cameron on UK screens next week.
Bree gives her partner Remi Carter a ray of hope for the future when she agrees to start addressing her current problems.
The Summer Bay doctor has been behaving erratically since the tragic death of Felicity Newman at the Northern Districts Hospital.
Before Christmas, Bree's hesitancy and obsessive checks at work nearly killed Alf Stewart when she caused a dangerous delay to his treatment amid a heart scare.
In upcoming scenes, Bree takes leave from the hospital to avoid the consequences of her mistake with Alf and the lies she told about Levi Fowler to cover her tracks.
Bree leaves Remi baffled by going straight into holiday mode, appearing to enjoy her time off despite the chaos she has caused. Remi points out that she's clearly avoiding responsibility and needs to make things right.
Things only get worse when Bree seeks out Marilyn Chambers, who has been pushing for an explanation and an apology over what happened to Alf.
Marilyn gets the opposite when Bree harshly belittles her and accuses her of overreacting to the incident. Remi witnesses the end of the conversation and is disappointed to realise that it didn't go well.
Bree also tries to apologise to Levi for lying about him, but Remi's dismay grows when he realises that she's doing it for show and doesn't genuinely mean it.
Tensions come to a head when Remi accuses Bree of playing the victim rather than owning up to her mistakes. Bree responds by threatening to end things with Remi if he can't take her side.
The next day, Xander Delaney gives Bree another perspective by defending Remi's understandable concern for her.
Bree relents and heads over to see her worried boyfriend, but she catches him researching paranoid psychosis on his laptop.
Although Bree initially reacts badly, she acknowledges that Remi could be on the right track as many of the listed symptoms strike a chord with her.
Bree refuses to seek professional help, but promises to find a way to get better on her own terms. While it's not the outcome that Remi wanted, is this the first step towards Bree making a positive change?
Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, January 20 and Tuesday, January 21 on Channel 5.
