Home and Away's Ada Nicodemou reveals how cast discovered co-star romance
"We didn't need a group email, people just worked it out."
Home and Away's Ada Nicodemou has revealed how the cast discovered her romance with co-star James Stewart.
The on-screen couple, who play Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan, confirmed their real-life relationship earlier this year, after they were reportedly spotted kissing in public.
However, according to Nicodemou, the cast of Home and Away were already aware of the relationship between the longtime friends.
Appearing on the No Filter podcast, the actor explained that she had told those she was "close with" on set, before "word got around".
"I figured I didn't need to tell anyone else," she told host Mia Freedman. "We didn't need a group email, people just worked it out."
Though her co-stars figured out their romance, Nicodemou revealed she was initially shocked by her feelings towards Stewart. "Jimmy and I have known each other for 25 to 30 years and there were no feelings for a really, really long time," she shared.
"There was this chemistry for the first time – this spark that happened that wasn't there before and it was weird."
"It was very new, we were just getting together and we wanted to do our thing. Unfortunately, we were papped kissing while waiting for an Uber." She said: "Everyone knew who needed to know anyway."
The couple officially debuted their relationship at this year's Logie Awards. "It's a work event, but it was the first time we were photographed together and all that," Nicodemou added. "It was really nice to share that moment with him and finally go, 'Yeah we're together.'
