Neighbours star Georgie Stone praises Mackenzie's exit plot

"I thought that was really important to honour that."

Neighbours star Georgie Stone has praised Mackenzie Hargreaves' exit plot following her final scenes airing.

In a video on the soap's official Instagram account, the actor reflected on some of her biggest moments during her Neighbours tenure. She looked back at her early days, and things like Mackenzie's relationship with Hendrix Greyson and her gender confirmation scenes.

When looking at her final scenes, Stone praised the soap for giving her an exit that reflected multiple facets of Mackenzie's personality.

The last big thing is getting married again. I think that's a really beautiful way to finish her story, for her to be heading to Paris," she said.

"The thing that takes her away from Ramsay Street is her ambition and her job. I thought that was really important to honour that part of Mackenzie, not just the romantic side. Her work dreams are coming true as well."

She also gave a shout-out to the recent scenes that aired during Outback Week, calling it a "really cool storyline".

"Shiv [Palekar] and I were lucky enough to film a couple of scenes up in a plane and just be able to look at the landscape from the sky," she recalled. "And that was one of the most incredible moments of my life."

She finished off the video by paying tribute to the fans for getting behind the character and making her feel welcome on the soap, stating: "Thank you so much for supporting me and for supporting Mackenzie. I feel very grateful and very loved. So thank you very much."

One thing she wasn't a fan of was the opening titles for the soap's revival, calling the experience of filming it "awful".
