Meet Home and Away’s new River Boy Joshua Orpin

If you’ve been missing the presence of Home and Away’s River Boys in Summer Bay, then rejoice – a new batch of bad boys have arrived to stir up trouble.

Among them is Joshua Orpin, who plays the mysterious and hunky Rory.

Joshua, best known for his role in the US superhero series Titans, tells New Idea all about his exciting new gig…

What can audiences expect from your character Rory?

He’s more than meets the eye. At first glance it’s easy to make assumptions about the kind of guy Rory is. But the more we get to know him, I’m confident viewers will have those assumptions challenged.

What do you love about playing him?

The costumes! I’m currently working on a period drama and I can say with certainty that after several weeks of high-collared suits, I’m longing for the days of showing up to the Home and Away set in a tank top, boardies and thongs.

Do you have a favourite Home and Away character?

It’s got to be Alf Stewart! He’s been a staple since before I was born, so it was surreal to meet the man himself, Ray Meagher, in real life.

What made you want to be an actor?

The family business [when I was growing up] was owning a bunch of Video Ezy stores. This allowed me to watch quite a lot of stuff, which fostered an obsession with movies and TV shows.

Home & Away airs Monday to Thursday at 7 pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
