Home and Away's Mali Hudson to face a dilemma after tragic death
He struggles with some advice from Kirby.
Home and Away's Mali Hudson faces a big decision on UK screens next week, as Kirby Aramoana encourages him to pursue a new direction in his career.
As Mali secretly explores a different side of his artistic talent, he's unsure whether it's the right time to share it with the world.
Next week's episodes see Kirby stumble across some artwork that Mali has been creating in his spare time.
Kirby notes that it's very different from the style that Mali uses when working on surfboards at the shop.
Despite some eager praise from his friend, Mali brushes off Kirby's interest in the project and claims that he was planning to chuck it out.
Kirby is shocked and urges him to reconsider. Going all-out, Kirby buys Mali a blank canvas and some art supplies in the hope of encouraging him.
Once alone, Mali tentatively starts painting and he later shows off the finished product to Kirby.
Mali expresses his gratitude to Kirby for coaxing him out of his comfort zone, but impulsive Kirby soon goes even further by revealing that she's been researching art competitions.
Kirby has found one contest with a $15,000 grand prize and she encourages Mali to enter. Pushing Mali's boundaries again, Kirby reveals that she's already filled out most of the entry form for him.
This doesn't go down so well with Mali, who claims that competitions aren't his thing and he's not in it for the money.
Mali also points out that it's poor timing, following the tragic news that their friend Felicity Newman won't pull through after suffering a brain aneurysm.
The surf shop owner dismisses the idea of pursuing a cash prize when the Summer Bay community is grieving, but can Kirby convince him to change his mind?
Home and Away airs these scenes on Wednesday, October 2 and Thursday, October 3 on Channel 5. Don't forget that you can explore next week's episodes in even more detail, with our collection of 42 new spoiler pictures.
