Soap legend Olympia Valance pregnant after heartbreaking miscarriage of twins

Former Neighbours star Olympia Valance has confirmed she is pregnant following the miscarriage of twins.

The star, 31, is in a relationship with AFL star Thomas Bellchambers. She took to Instagram to share the wonderful news, but admitted to her followers that this journey hasn’t been easy.

After four years of infertility struggles which included the miscarriage of twins, Olympia admitted she had hit her pregnancy away for five and a half months, ‘to make sure this wasn’t all a dream.’

She said: ‘But you kept growing and growing and it’s starting to look like our dreams have finally come true. I’ve been as open and honest as I could about our struggles with infertility and I truly believed that this day wasn’t going to be possible for us.

So when I saw this positive pregnancy test I have to admit, at the time, I wasn’t jumping for joy. I was full of fear because that’s all I’ve known. But as the weeks kept going by it was hard to wipe the smile off our faces.

‘To the little one we never thought we’d meet, we can’t wait to hold you in our arms. You were worth every tear, every setback, and every prayer. To all the people who supported us through the darkest days, thank you. I know I wouldn’t have made it to this point without the strength of my family and friends who managed to hold me up when I was falling apart.

She added: ‘It is also incredibly important for me to recognise that although this is the best news in the world for Thomas and I, my heart aches for anyone that sees this and feels pain. It was so hard for me to write this because it feels like I’m caught between two worlds.

‘It’s not an easy road and I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy. It’s one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Stay strong, keep fighting, but most importantly don’t forget to be kind to yourself.’

Olympia, best known for her role as Paige Smith in Australian soap Neighbours, opened up about miscarrying twins in an emotional message last year.

‘Thomas and I miscarried twins, right in the middle of Covid, which as you can imagine was excruciatingly painful’, she said in a post online.

Since then, we haven’t been able to conceive. That would be two years of really trying. For any woman or couple trying to get pregnant, there is no worse pain than every month looking down at that negative pregnancy test. Your heart breaks in two.’

After also speaking about how she currently doesn’t want to go down the IVF route, due to the increase in hormones, she concluded: ‘I want babies and I will do everything in my power to get them.’

Understandably, Olympia received many kind and wonderful comments on the post. Some offered support and sent their love, while others opened up about their experiences with conceiving.

Olympia and partner Thomas got married in Victoria in 2022. They met at a Spring Racing Carnival and, a year later, matched on the celebrity dating app Raya.
