Neighbours star Ryan Moloney discusses possible death plot for Toadie

Is it the end for the Ramsay Street legend?

Neighbours star Ryan Moloney has spoken about the possibility of his character Toadie Rebecchi being killed off.

Show bosses have been teasing that this week's episodes could be the end for Toadie, as he faces terrible danger in the Australian Outback.

Viewers have already seen Toadie and his ex-wife Melanie Pearson go missing after an unfortunate run-in with Justin, the dangerous accomplice of Tess Carmichael and Heath Royce.

Official spoiler pictures have revealed that Toadie and Melanie will end up in the Outback, where they're held captive to secure their silence over Tess and Heath's crimes.

As it's no secret that Toadie will be leaving Neighbours shortly, the stakes are high over the outcome of the storyline. The week's episodes are titled 'Death in the Outback', confirming that someone's time will be up soon..

He explained: "If Toadie dies out in the Outback, that's a pretty spectacular way to go! It'd be a pretty cool way for him to leave the show, given everything he's been through.

"I have always said that if he dies, I would like Toadie to save Ramsay Street by jumping on a bomb and he blows up. But I'll take the Australian Outback instead!"

He continued: "In terms of production values, this set of episodes is certainly up there with the best storylines that Neighbours has done.

"The Australian Outback is just a spectacular place, so it'd be very hard for it not to look cinematic, massive and beautiful."

Ryan has received an outpouring of love from fans since announcing his departure from Neighbours in June.

This autumn, he'll be taking part in a UK tour titled 'Toad on the Road', reflecting on his 29-year history with the show.

Ryan told us: "I'm pretty humbled by the reaction, to be honest. It's quite nice to feel the love from the other side of the world.

"I'm very much looking forward to coming over for Toad on the Road and seeing people face to face.

"It'll give me a chance to say goodbye properly, in a way, to the people who have kept me on the show for all of these years. They've also kept supporting the show itself and helped to bring it back. I'm pretty excited by that."
