Neighbours ‘confirms’ another major exit as character is sacked

The Rodwell’s marriage is on the brink of collapse in Neighbours next week as Wendy’s (Candice Leask) secret life haunts her.

In the wake of Mike Young (Guy Pearce) and Jane Harris’ (Annie Jones) devastating split, will another Erinsborough couple separate?

There’s also further troubles for Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) in the Amazon Freevee soap, as memories of his late wife Sonya resurface while he tries to revive her plant nursery business.

Elsewhere, Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) tries to reignite the spark in her marriage to Karl (Alan Fletcher), but things quickly turn very awkward with one of the Eirini Rising residents!

Kiri Durant (Gemma Bird Matheson) wakes up to Nicolette Stone’s (Hannah Monson) feelings for her, while Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgie Stone) gets an exciting job proposition that could see her turn her back on Erinsborough.

So, with more gossip than Melanie dishes out to her customers in the Drinks Divas van, Metro.co.uk is the place for all the latest from Ramsay Street. Here’s what’s coming up next week.

Cara (Sara West) is still unaware of the extent that Wendy is hiding her secret life from Andrew (Lloyd Will) and accidentally comments about how well he took the fact she told her uni mates that she was single.

Realising just how far his wife has gone, he’s left hurt and struggling to address it. Wendy tries to downplay the situation and tells him that it was just a silly game, and assures him that her lies had nothing to do with him or Sadie (Emerald Chan).

However, as the the conversation escalates, she admits that she did enjoy living in a different reality. With their marriage on the rocks, Andrew storms out and doesn’t return home.

Nell (Ayisha Salem-Towner) returns home from Luna Park and can instantly tell there’s something brewing between the Varga-Murphy brothers again. JJ (Riley Bryant) assures Dex (Marley Williams) that he’d never sabotage his attempts to get with Nell.

Later, Dex discovers that her focus is firmly on JJ and Nell is left bemused when the pair both decline her offer to walk to school with them.

With the love triangle in full swing, both lads find themselves in an impossible situation and JJ is full of regret.

At the nursery, Toadie is overcome with emotion when memories of his dearly departed wife Sonya plague him. Struggling to bear it, he tells Cara that he can no longer help rebuild the sunroom at No. 30 and decides to focus on keeping the nursery to preserve her legacy.

After Toadie admits that his past is continuing to haunt him, Karl encourages him to speak with Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) about his feelings but he decides instead to keep her in the dark.

Susan takes the afternoon off for some alone time with Karl, but her plans are quickly delayed when she realises he’s down at the plant nursery with Toad. Thinking on her feet, she strips off in the Eirini Rising treatment room awaiting his return, but is caught in the act by resident Moira!

Oh dear.

With the clock ticking into the small hours, Wendy rushes down to the police station in shock and realises that Andrew is working late. Seeing how terrified his wife was, he agrees to hear her out and is moved by her explanation.

Although hurt, he resolves that they will be okay in time.

Realising how much her neighbour’s lies have affected her relationship, Cara decides to come clean to Remi (Naomi Rukavina) about her own secret educational venture, and she is reassuringly supportive. However, feeling insecure, Cara pushes her away.

At the first Yorokobi event, Nicolette is adamant to make a good impression on Leo (Tim Kano) and Kiri but struggles to find someone to babysit Isla.

After a chat with Mackenzie, Kiri is left considering whether her feelings towards Nic have changed since learning the truth about what happened with Sasha, and she offers her an olive branch – bring Isla into the vineyard.

With the ice thawing, there is clearly a spark between the two! Wahoo!

Elsewhere, interim manager Brett makes Krista’s (Majella Davis) life a nightmare at the hotel and she scrambles to find a solution to the high number of guests that have arrived and can’t be accommodated.

Pushed to her limits, she snaps and fires him – only for Tess Carmichael from the Sincast corporation, who invest in Lassiters, to arrive.

Yorokobi’s relaunch event has gone swimmingly, and the team are asked to submit a pitch for a new ‘Melbourne Experiences’ tour. Concerned that they have too little time to draft something, Nic and Kiri’s synergy helps them to pull together a killer concept.

Impressed and hopeful for the future, he proposes they make the co-partnership official. However, when Krista sees the trust he’s placing in his business partners, she crumbles and exposes the fact that Byron (Xavier Molyneux) sacked off a potential other investor.

She’s got her own worries at Lassiters with Tess’s arrival, and is given the task to recoup the costs of Brett’s booking bedlam.

Breaking down to Leo, he suggests adding the hotel onto the tour pitch and thinks she’s won over Tess – unaware that she’s actually in Erinsborough for her own personal reasons.

At No. 32, Mackenzie is on cloud nine when she wins a court case but is put-out when Haz (Shiv Palekar) says that Toadie hasn’t been a very good mentor to her recently at Rebecchi Law.

Later, a shock job offer arrives and she knows that she can’t accept it as she considers Toad as her family. When the Rebecchi’s host a dinner party, he makes a promise to be more present at work in the future and she decides that declining the dream job is the right decision.

A furious Leo confronts Byron over his sabotage and ends their deal without giving him a chance to explain. Nicolette’s world comes crumbling down when she realises that she’ll now no longer be around Kiri as often.

He speaks with Kiri about her feelings and urges her not to let his mistake stand in the way of them reconciling. Taking heed of his advice, she joins Nic and Isla on a trip to the beach and gives her ex-girlfriend a chance to speak up about how she really feels… and they kiss!

At Lassiters, Krista and Tess await to hear whether the hotel and complex have been added onto the tour package. Holly’s up to her old tricks and begins to meddle with Tess, and Krista warns her against it as any mistakes could see her sent back to work for Reece in the US.

Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) tries to assure Tess that Krista is a changed woman, and when the deal lands, Krista decides to use it as a way to connect with her late dad’s right-hand woman. The two seem to be on the same page, and for once they really hit it off.

Toadie learns about Mack’s job offer and she promises him that she’s turned the offer down. However, when she admits that she’s not happy, it’s a huge wake-up call for him and he promises to help her chase her ambitions at Rebecchi Law.

Conflicted between his memories of his ex-wives and his work troubles, Melanie throws an extra spanner in the works and says she’s realised they were never meant for each other.

Her words cause Toad, yet again, to spiral.

Neighbours streams from 7am, Monday to Thursday on Amazon Freevee.
