Home and Away's Tane Parata upsets Harper Matheson after Summer Bay return

Home and Away's Tane Parata leaves Harper Matheson heartbroken as he returns to Summer Bay next week.

Harper is eager for a chance to talk to Tane following their recent one-night stand, but the gym boss seems to have other issues on his mind.

Earlier this month, Tane spent the night with Harper on the eve of his sentencing in the baby kidnapping case.

Tane was then summoned to the city to undergo a training and counselling programme as part of his punishment. This meant that there was no chance for Tane and Harper to discuss their future.

Harper later confided in her sister Dana about wanting to speak with Tane, but she vowed to wait until he was back in town rather than doing it over the phone.

Next week, Tane returns but completely ignores Harper when they cross paths at Salt.

Tane lets his thumb hover over Harper's contact in his phone during a moment alone later on, but he ultimately chooses not to dial.

When Harper then works up the courage to speak to Tane, she's disappointed when he insists that he only wants to be friends. This leaves Harper reluctant to go ahead and confess her own feelings.

Meanwhile, Tane focuses his efforts on launching a big new project as he confides in Roo Stewart and John Palmer about an idea he's had.

Tane explains that his community service has inspired him to start a fitness programme for disadvantaged youths.

Roo and John are both enthusiastic, but they point out the importance of getting the Surf Club committee's approval. Will this be a fresh start for Tane?
