Home and Away's Ada Nicodemou finally confirms romance with co-star

 "It's only early days."

Home and Away's Ada Nicodemou has finally confirmed her romance with James Stewart.

The longtime co-stars, who play on-screen couple Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan on the Australian soap, were first rumoured to be dating off-screen earlier this year after they were reportedly spotted sharing a kiss.

Nicodemou has now finally confirmed that the rumours are true, with the actor recently telling Stellar Magazine: "Jimmy and I are together, yes. It's only early days. It's very recent and very unexpected. I'm super happy. It's really lovely."

While Nicodemou didn't specify exactly when their relationship began, she did confirm that they didn't have "genuine feelings" for one another while filming their characters' wedding scenes last year.

"There weren't genuine feelings then," she explained. "It was shot last year. But I think whenever you're watching any TV couple, you're always wondering if they really do have feelings."

On her working relationship with Stewart, Nicodemou added: "We've always respected each other [...] I always like going to work – we push ourselves, and push each other, in a really good way."

The couple's characters tied the knot in a sweet, drama-free ceremony earlier this year, which Nicodemou said she was happy about given Leah and Justin's on-off relationship struggles.

"It's a beautiful, normal wedding which we really wanted. I just wanted it to be like a nice wedding with nothing bad happening, and that's what happened," she said.

The actor was also full of praise for Leah and Justin's relationship, saying: "It's a really nice adult relationship, there's not a lot of angst. They've been through way too much together and I think they really support each other. And he sings to her! She cooks, he sings – it's perfect!"

Home and Awayairs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
