Neighbours' Jane Harris to be confronted over Mike Young's absence

 Victor issues some home truths.

Neighbours' Jane Harris is left outraged next week as her ex-husband Victor Stone tries to interfere in her new relationship.

The Erinsborough High headteacher receives some home truths when Victor questions why Mike Young has spent so much time away from her.

Jane and Mike got engaged in the early weeks of Neighbours' new season last year.

They've since tried to maintain a long-distance relationship, as Mike has a job in the UK and has repeatedly extended his time away.

Next week, Jane's daughter Nicolette and son Byron chat privately about how she doesn't seem committed to the wedding anymore.

This follows Jane attending a wedding dress fitting, where she was left tearful during a private moment in the changing rooms.

Victor overhears Nicolette and Byron talking and decides to meddle by confronting Jane about her relationship.

Victor declares that people close to Jane have noticed that she's engaged to a man who keeps pushing back his return date.

This goes down badly with Jane, who points out that it's not Victor's place to discuss her personal life.

Despite this, Victor persists by demanding to know why Jane and Mike aren't together if they're in love.

Later, Jane is left rattled by Victor's comments, wondering whether he has a point. However, she's soon distracted when she realises that her engagement ring is missing and immediately jumps to conclusions over who's responsible.

Hollywood star Guy Pearce appeared in person on Neighbours late last year for Mike and Jane's engagement scenes. Mike has since been on screen for brief video calls to his family.

"It's a wonderful dilemma to have. We're very grateful to Guy for continuing his association with the show. Anything is possible but of course it depends on his schedule.

"That said, the distance will soon prove difficult for Mike and Jane and they will need to reassess their future."

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, June 18.
