Neighbours confirms exit as much-loved legend hides a sad secret

There’s uncertainty for Leo Tanaka’s (Tim Kano) future at Yorokobi in Neighbours next week when rumours spread about his involvement in the poisoning.

Elsewhere on Ramsay Street, Nicolette (Hannah Monson) is devastated when Amira (Maria Thatill) turns her down, whilst Jane (Annie Jones) struggles with old feelings for ex-husband Vic (Craig Hall) resurfacing.

The Amazon Freevee soap will also explore Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) angst over his daughter Nell’s (Ayisha Salem-Towner) relationship with JJ (Riley Bryant).

Harold’s (Ian Smith) health causes concern for Karl (Alan Fletcher) at Eirini Rising, whilst he relishes in the success of his plot to get the poo-cyclist sent down.

Plus, some nasty comments left on an Erinsborough true crime podcast leave the most-liveable suburb reeling.

You won’t want to miss everything that’s happening next week, so why not get comfy, slip on one of Cousin Hilary’s infamous cardies and read on for all of the hottest goss from our favourite Neighbours.

Monday June 3

After meddling in Nicolette and Byron’s (Xavier Molyneux) love lives, Vic tries to justify his intentions but Nic would rather him explain to Amira that he behaved like a fool.

Unfortunately, she’s left with her heart broken once again when Amira questions why they were even having the conversation in the first place – after all, she lives on the other side of the country and their fling was nothing serious.

Byron panics when Sadie (Emerald Chan) appears distant with him, and she admits that the situation has left her rattled but she’s willing to move forward. The situation prompts them to share their first ‘I love yous’.

Awww, sweet.

Haz (Shiv Palekar) admits to Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) that his sister can be overbearing, but promises her that he’d rather enter the next chapter of his life than dwell on the past. However, before long, she discovers that she’s been left out of his legal defence that has been organised by his family.

As a vicious row ensues between Mack and Amira, she decides to leave Ramsay Street and head back to WA.

Tuesday June 4

The Varga-Murphys gather around Dex’s (Marley Williams) bedside to await results of the bottle analysis in the hope it will provide them answers on the toxins that poisoned him at the Eirini Rising launch.

Elsewhere, at Yorokobi, Leo has recalled all of the produce and the business has taken a hit. A guilty conscience soon follows when Andrew (Lloyd Will) says the results have come back inconclusive, and he realises its because he asked his team to have a look at it first.

Further woes hit Leo when Aaron (Matt Wilson) informs him that a popular true crime podcast is recording an episode on the events, that could be potentially damaging for his reputation.

Checking out his dash cam footage, he sees drug dealer Shannon making her way around the site at the time of the incident.

Over at No. 32, tensions are building between Haz and Mackenzie following her outburst at Amira, who has already booked her flight home. Mack makes a sincere apology, and she accepts that she was overbearing because she was so distant from her brother for so long.

Citing a work emergency, she still decides to leave Erinsborough, but this time on much better terms with those around her.

Across the road, Nell persists with her claims that JJ is just misunderstood and not a troublemaker, but Toadie doesn’t want to hear it. Wanting to make a better name for himself, he volunteers at the community centre.

Nell is thrilled by his turnaround, and the two enjoy each other’s company but are quickly rumbled by her dad. JJ makes a desperate plea to prove his trustworthiness, but it falls on deaf ears.

Toadie asserts that Nell is almost the same age as Sonya when she began heading down a wrong path and fell pregnant with Callum, and he doesn’t want his daughter making the same mistake.

Defiant as ever, she ignores her ban and shares a moment of intimacy with JJ – but her dad walks in on them both.

Wednesday June 5

Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) is forced to play the middleman following Toadie’s discovery and encourages him to get on the same level as his daughter. After extending an olive branch to the Varga-Murphys, Toadie concedes that he’s just being overprotective and lifts the ban.

Later, Nell opens up to her step-mum and shares that she and JJ are just friends, but feels that he may have stronger feelings for her. Terese struggles under the weight of keeping it from her husband.

Elsewhere, Karl keeps shtum when Mackenzie asks him where his new bike came from – of course it was exchanged by Shirley so he wouldn’t tell everyone that her grandson was the poo-cyclist. Susan takes pride in telling the true story.

However, before long Jacob is summoned to the police station and charged with public indecency – and Karl is to blame!

He’s left saddened when Shirley snatches the bike back off him, and Mackenzie confesses that she told the story to one of her law school mates who was working on a case against Jacob and had used the info to discredit him.

Leo reaches out to Cara (Sara West) and Remi (Naomi Rukavina) to apologise for not handing the bottle over sooner, but bigger worries soon arrive on his doorstep when the Crimesborough Podcast goes live.

At the station, Andrew questions Shannon on why she was at the retirement village, and she admits she was there to vandalise the property but bailed when she saw the crowd. Although denying responsibility, Andrew sees this as enough evidence to charge her.

With Yorokobi on the line following the podcast’s success, and a malicious comment revealing that he was the one who held onto the poisoned goods, Leo spirals.

Thursday June 6

The anonymous tip off on the Crimesborough podcast comment section is causing the vineyard’s profits to drop rapidly, with bookings being cancelled and Leo’s entry livelihood at stake. Most importantly, his mental health is dwindling from the situation and he rushes to the police station to fire abuse at Andrew for not helping him enough, and at Sadie for talking behind his back.

Admitting that he’s left himself without a financial security net, Krista (Majella Davis) suggests that he ask Paul (Stefan Dennis) or Reece (Mischa Barton) for help. He stubbornly refuses to accept either option and says he’d rather see the business sink.

There’s new health fears for Harold when he’s reluctant to have a wellness assessment with Karl, firstly telling him that he doesn’t have his diary with him and later saying he can’t find it to write down an appointment slot.

Karl speaks with Susan about his concerns, and she suggests that he may just not see the benefit in preventive medicine. After a tough conversation, Harold drops his façade and its evident he’s hiding something.

With the atmosphere electric at No. 24 and everyone being a good mood with Vic for once, he suggests a family trip to Mount Dandenong. Jane is against the side and it later becomes apparent that the two planned to visit there when they were married.

Nic turns up at Erinsborough High to convince her mum to join them, reminding her that Vic is dying and they should be making the most of their time. Flustered, Jane reminds her that is engaged to Mike (Guy Pearce) and that he is her priority, not her cheating ex-husband.

The situation proves to be too much for Jane, and as she heads home she forgets to lock the door between the school and Eiring Rising – leading to students gatecrashing the retirement village and setting off a stink bomb.

Yucky!
