"Practicing patience now while I heal."

Home and Away star Georgie Parker is set to take a break from the soap after undergoing surgery.

Parker, who plays Roo Stewart, had her second hip replacement surgery last month. She recently shared a health update with fans, explaining she is three weeks into her rehabilitation.

"I've been busy. Finishing a play and then straight into another theatre ( get it 🥁 ) for a new hip," she wrote on Instagram last week.

"My second in 6 years, and thank god I had the same brilliant surgeon and his team. I hate the drugs 🤢🥴 but love the rehab," she continued.

"I'm 3 weeks post op, recovery is going well and I've had the most brilliant support from my family, my work place and my incredible friends 🥰."

"Practicing patience now while I heal…… so I can get back to work baby," she added.

In recent Home and Away scenes aired in the UK, Parker's character Roo decided to open up her home and become an emergency foster carer for children in need.

Her dad Alf was initially concerned about her plans but the two smoothed things out after having an honest conversation, with Alf fully supporting his daughter's dream.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
