Netflix star with millions of followers ‘honoured and excited’ as she joins Neighbours: ‘Ramsay Street here I come!’

 

Netflix star Chrishell Stause has joined the cast of Neighbours.

The actress, who made a name for herself on US soaps Days of Our Lives and All My Children, is best known for her work on reality series Selling Sunset, having amassed almost four million followers on Instagram.

The realtor, 42, will makes her Ramsay Street debut later as businesswoman Yasmine ‘Yas’ Shields, who arrives in Erinsborough to pursue a very exciting new opportunity.

Chrishell will make her way to Australia in July to begin filming for the Amazon Freevee soap, which staged quite a comeback last year.

‘I am honoured and excited to join such a beloved and iconic show!,’ said the Selling Sunset star. ‘Coming from the world of soaps in the US, it’s back to my first love in the entertainment industry.

‘They pitched me an idea for a character, and I was immediately excited to figure out a way to make it happen. Ramsay Street here I come!’


Neighbours boss Jason Herbison added: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Chrishell to the cast of Neighbours. We created a character especially for her and we can’t wait for her to bring the storyline alive.

‘Expect intrigue and surprises – and many implications for the residents of Ramsay Street.’





Neighbours, which made stars of Margot Robbie, Guy Pearce and Kylie Minogue, returned to screens last year after Amazon Freevee swooped in a rescued the popular soap following Channel 5’s controversial decision to axe it.

The revival series has been met with acclaim thus far and even included a guest stint from The OC star Mischa Barton, who played businesswoman Reece Sinclair.

Chrishell, meanwhile, is no stranger to soap, having starred as Amanda Dillon in All My Children between 2005 and 2011, before taking on the role of Jordan Ridgeway in Days of Our Lives.

Neighbours streams Mondays to Thursdays at 7am on Amazon Freevee.
