Neighbours confirms major character return as much-loved favourite disappears in new spoilers
Neighbours ramps up the drama next week as Ramsay Street prepares for the return of one of its most iconic good friends, and two residents head on a dangerous path of self-destruction.
The Amazon Freevee soap heads out into the Australian bush as the Varga-Murphy family embark on a spontaneous camping trip – that leads to one of their boys going missing.
Meanwhile, Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) heads to Daylesford to reminisce about his time spent there with late husband David (Takaya Honda), but when Krista Sinclair (Majella Davis) follows him, the trip turns disastrous.
As rumours fly around Erinsborough about the serial defecator on the warpath in gardens across the most-liveable suburb, Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) is devastated to be prime suspect.
Could a surprise return prove to be just the support he needs?
Plus, following the identity of the deepfake orchestrator finally being revealed, Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgie Stone) accidentally walks straight into their trap…
So put down your paint brush and easel (we don’t need another Mrs Mangel portrait, thank you) and read on as I dish the dirt on next week’s goings on of our favourite Neighbours.
Paul is a nightmare!
Paul (Stefan Dennis) continues to insist on helping Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) scout an operations manager for Eirini Rising, which is causing a great deal of stress in the lead up to the grand opening.
Unbeknownst to him, she is recovering from a horrific and unsettling bad dream that reminded her why they broke up in the first place – his guilt after trying to cover up the apparent murder of Krista.
Jealous Chelsea (Viva Bianca), proving once again to be a thorn in his side, tells him that he’s fooling himself if he thinks he can form a relationship with his ex-wife again… and she’s proved right when Terese can’t get the nightmare out of her head and cuts down on contact with him.
Dex wants s’more attention
With tensions rising at No. 30 between brothers JJ (Riley Bryant) and Dex (Marley Williams), Cara (Sara West) and Remi (Naomi Rukavina) suggest a spontaneous camping trip in the hope it will get their relationship back on track.
When the mums spend the entire trip humouring JJ, and noticing that he is taking their good nature and support for granted, Dex secludes himself in his tent and later disappears – and theres nothing but the bush around them.
As the family frantically search for the teenager, and as Cara prepares to call emergency services, Byron (Xavier Molyneux) reaches out to say he’s found him back on Ramsay Street.
Dex admits that because he doesn’t misbehave like his brother, he feels ignored and his parents are forced to apologise and promise to listen to his needs going forward.
Despite the reconciliation, things are still fractured between him and JJ…
The rumours about Karl really stink
Thrilled with his new Eirini Rising billboard on Power Road, Karl rallies a group together to cycle past it, but is dismayed to find it’s been vandalised by someone naming him as the phantom poo cycler.
As he urges Terese to get the paint cleaned before anyone sees it, Wendy (Candice Leask) and Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) have a private conversation to confirm that neither of them spread the rumour that he was the one responsible.
Melanie’s guilt gets the better of her and she admits to Karl what she originally thought, but before he can spiral any further – Susan (Jackie Woodburne) arrives home!!
As she proves to be the much-needed support he needs, he doesn’t stop fighting to clear his name and insists that Sarge (Lloyd Will) dedicates some police time to finding the culprit.
With everyone in the suburb finding the situation amusing, he is devastated when Terese evicts him from the retirement complex showcase.
Aaron joins Krista on a journey to self-destruction
Having fallen off the wagon again, Krista arrives at The Waterhole in the middle of the night and finds Aaron grieving David and engaging in a private drinking session.
She urges him to let her join him for a drink and he feels it’s beyond his powers to deny a grieving woman an hour or two of solace – just this once.
However, when Aaron heads off for a trip down memory lane to his former home in Daylesford, Krista tags along and the two end up having yet another drinking session when he finds the pills hidden in her bag.
With the shame consuming them both the next day, they apologise to one another and feeling guilty, they plot to lie to their family and friends about the events.
After a make-up date with boyfriend Leo (Tim Kano), Chelsea watches on from the sidelines and knows exactly what path the two are on.
Susan is left conflicted as a new opportunity ‘Rises’
Terese is pleasantly surprised when Paul suggests the perfect operations manager for the retirement experience is right under her nose – Susan.
Pitching the idea to her neighbour, she is flattered but concerned that taking on the position would mean she’d be husband Karl’s boss.
Ouch!
Terese gives her time to talk to Karl, but as he’s still caught up in the defecating drama, Susan can’t bring herself to raise the issue with him.
Despite hiding the job offer from him, when he finds out he’s surprisingly supportive and says they’re strong enough to close the door on work based conflict when they return home on an evening, but Susan isn’t sold.
Mackenzie ‘Wades in’ on Haz
Furious with Haz, Mackenzie finally gives him an ultimatum; either he comes clean about his hacking history and tells their friends and the police, or she will.
Realising he has nowhere else to turn, he confesses his criminal past to Andrew who warns him that jail time will be the likely result. Haz accepts that as the price he has to pay and his friends begin to turn on him.
Neighbours drops at 7am Monday to Thursday on Amazon Freevee, with a thousands of classic episodes available to watch on the streamer now.
