Home and Away Tane star reunites with soap family in 'rare sighting' as fans go wild

Home and Away's Tane is the only member of the Parata clan left in Summer Bay therefore it's no surprise that fans went wild as Ethan Browne reunited with his soap family.

Home and Away fans were delighted as the Parata family reunited.

Tane, played by Ethan Browne, is the only member of the Parata clan left on the soap. His brother, Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) arrived in Summer Bay in 2019, introduced in the soap's series finale which saw several characters held hostage at gunpoint in the local hospital.

Ari and Tane's nephew Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo), made his first appearance in January 2020, while Tane made his way to the Bay one month later. Now, the trio have reunited in what Ethan branded a "rare sighting".

Posing alongside his on-screen family, the actor wrote: "A rare sighting indeed. Kia ora brothers." Referencing his character's death, Rob joked: "Parata boys in da house.. ghosts are real."

Home and Away fans rushed to the comments as they went wild over the reunion. One wrote: "The boys are back in town."

Another penned: "The reunion we all needed." A third said: "Aww miss seeing you all together in Home and Away." Echoing this, a fourth added: "Summer Bay just isn't the same without you all."

Another agreed: "The Paratas back together!! The reunion we all want!! RIP Ari!!!" The Parata's were the serial's first Māori and indigenous family to join the main cast of the soap.

The family's world came crashing down in 2022 when Ari was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. The cancer quickly spread but Ari refused treatment, wanting to die on his own terms. Ari died in March 2022, just weeks after he was diagnosed.

Nikau's departure from Summer Bay was far less tragic as he finally got his happy ending with on-off girlfriend Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller). Nearly one year after Ari's death, Bella returned from New York to visit Dean (Paddy O'Connor) and Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) after they had a baby.

She crossed paths with Nikau and the couple ended up reconciling. Nikau got his uncle's blessing and moved to the US with Bella. Meanwhile, Tane has had a turbulent time since losing his family as he recently split with his wife Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis).

During Thursday's instalment (April 4) of the Channel 5 soap, Tane told Mali (Kyle Shilling) that he was moving back to New Zealand. But after Felicity told him she was ready to move on, Tane decided to stay – for now.
