Home and Away reveals Cash Newman's fate after suspension
He makes a big decision of his own.
Home and Away's Cash Newman takes matters into his own hands next week after finding out whether he can keep his job.
The Summer Bay policeman is furious when his bosses refuse to let him return to his old role following his recent suspension.
Cash's future has been hanging in the balance for weeks after he broke protocol by helping Dana Matheson when she was on the run from the law.
Although Dana's innocence was later established – along with the corruption of DS Madden – Cash's superiors still came down hard on him for breaking the rules.
In next week's episodes on Channel 5, Cash returns from his long-awaited suspension review and seems positive over how it went.
Cash updates his girlfriend Eden Fowler, admitting that he isn't sure how long it will take the investigators to make a decision.
Later in the evening, Cash receives a call from the police station with an important update.
Cash is informed that he can have his job back, but he'll be forced to accept a demotion and restricted duties.
As Cash feels hurt and badly let down by the decision, he tells his bosses to "shove it" and resigns from the police. Is this really the end of his time in the force?
Nicholas Cartwright, who plays Cash, first teased this storyline at the start of the year when he revealed that his character would face some career changes.
He told Perth Now: "Without giving anything anyway, (the current storyline) finds some sort of resolution, but it's a massive journey getting there.
"Beyond that, there's a lot going on for Cash. He is considering a career change. He has always been a police officer in the Bay and I guess he's becoming a little bit disgruntled with that — there's a very big change coming for Cash."
Recent episodes in Australia have seen Cash accept work as a security guard at a shopping mall, before agreeing to become a bodyguard for a famous film actress.
