Hollyoaks star Owen Warner breaks silence on Romeo's "emotional" exit
Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner has spoken out about his character Romeo Nightingale's exit.
Warner has been playing Romeo since 2018, and in the last year has been involved in the one of the soap's main storylines. His relationship with Rayne Royce was soon revealed to be toxic, and he was considered a main suspect in her murder until it was confirmed she accidentally died in a fight with him.
In the latest episode to air on E4, Romeo's loved ones helped him escape for a potentially fatal scenario in prison, and armed with a fake passport and atop a horse, the character made an exit from the soap.

Following the airing of that episode, Warner shared two Instagram photos of himself in costume on horseback, and wrote: "Romeo Dunn!!! What a journey it’s been and what a way to go out.
"When I started on Hollyoaks I never imagined that I'd leave galloping away on a horse to Taylor Swift. I've met some of the most incredible people and had some of the most amazing experiences. Thank you so much to the @hollyoaksofficial family and to all of you that watched over the years, it’s been emotional."
Peri Lomax actress Ruby O'Donnell reacted to his exit the other day, stating: "I'm gutted about Owen leaving. I think he's an amazing human and amazing actor and it's a real loss for the show but the way he leaves is so iconic that it was too good not to do but he'll really be missed.
"I loved working with him and I'm glad that we got to work so close together towards the end, even if it was just for a little while."
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
