Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou shares throwback to her first appearance on Heartbreak High

 ‘Omg look what I found!’

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has wowed her fans with a throwback video of her first-ever TV acting scene.

Before joining the cast of Home and Away, the beloved actress played Katerina Ioannou on Heartbreak High for three years between 1994 and 1997.

“Omg look what I found!! My first-ever scene on #HeartbreakHigh 🫣😱,” she wrote.

“Fun fact — Peta Toppano played my Mum on Heartbreak & on #HomeandAway! ❤️

“And so sorry for the bad acting, this was literally my first-ever acting scene.”

In the scene, Ada’s character Katerina knocks on a door, which is opened by Nick Poulos, played by a young Alex Dimitriades.

Katerina is dressed in a classic 1990s grunge-punk outfit that includes chunky boots, patterned tights, a short tartan skirt and a Wheels & Dollbaby T-shirt.

Nick looks her up and down and says, “well, hello there!”

“Um, I’m not sure if I’ve come to the right place,” she says.

“Oh, I think you have!” Nick says.

Doing a bit of eye-flirting, Katerina laughs and says, “I’m looking for my mother?”

“Oh right, um, in that case maybe you haven’t,” Nick replies.

“Her name is Stella Iannou?” Katerina says quizzically before her mum, played by Peta Toppano, comes out and gives her daughter a hug.

In the next scene, Katerina is asking her mum if she’ll ever go back to her dad, all the while grumpily stabbing her food with a giant knife.

Fans loved the throwback video, with many remembering the scene from when they watched the show.

“I was watching when I was a teenager and now I rewatch on Netflix with my teen daughter 😍,” one fan said.

“Absolutely great, I loved this show,” added another.

“Ran home every afternoon from school to watch it.”

“Wow! So young!” gushed one fan.

“I was obsessed with u in this,” another follower said.

“Feels like three lifetimes ago and just yesterday all at once.”

Ada’s success on Heartbreak High led to her being cast as Leah Patterson on Home and Away in 2000, a role she still plays to this day.

Heartbreak High was the launching pad for a number of other acting stars, including Dimitriades, Abi Tucker, Kym Wilson and The Mentalist star Simon Baker.

A new version of the series, loosely based on the original, screened on Netflix in 2022.

“I love this show so much. Any chance of a cameo on the new Heartbreak High?” one fan wondered.

“This is where we all fell in love with you, and Alex Dimitriades,” said another.

“I’ve been rewatching the show lately and Kat is still my favourite character all these years later!” added a third.
