Neighbours solves major ‘finale’ mystery in flashback twist as identity of Amy Greenwood’s ‘baby daddy’ is confirmed

 

Neighbours spoilers follow for Monday’s (November 13) episode that is now available to stream on Amazon Freevee.

When Neighbours wrapped on Channel 5 last year, it did so with a historic and star-studded ‘finale’ that was the perfect bow-tie of an ending.

There was, however, one question left unanswered, with Amy Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton) having implied that she’d found a sperm donor in her quest to have a baby, with viewers left wondering just who it was.

Amy, as fans will recall, decided during what we all thought were the show’s final few months on air that she wanted to have another child and was hopeful that someone she knew would’ve helped her out.

Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) was at the top of her list after she came to believe that she’d developed feelings for him, which made things somewhat awkward between the best friends.

Determined to work out what she wanted, Amy took a brief trip away but returned to Ramsay Street in time for Toadie and Melanie Pearson’s (Lucinda Cowden) wedding, which saw many famous faces from days gone by return to Erinsborough.

In her final few moments on air, the Drinks Diva owner informed Toadie that she’ll ‘know in a couple of weeks’ if ‘things worked out’ for her, before touching her tummy.

Toadie, stunned, asked her if she found a donor, before demanding to know if it was someone they know. Amy, however, was keeping tight-lipped.

With Neighbours back on air courtesy of Amazon Freevee, fans had been hopeful that we’d finally find out who it is that’s the father of her baby and the popular soap has finally provided the answer.

Monday’s (November 13) flashback offering of the serial drama took viewers back in time to the day of Toadie and Melanie’s wedding, with Jacinta Stapleton reprising her role as Amy, who stunned her fellow neighbours as she brought Lance to the Waterhole to confirm the news.

Lance was a little unsure when Amy introduced him as her future ‘baby daddy’, but he and Amy were much more sure of their plans when we saw them in a subsequent scene, set the day after the wedding.

Lance was a mainstay of the show between 1995 and 2001, with one-off appearances in 2005, 2018 and the finale in 2022 and despite his and Amy’s romance having failed in the past, it seems like there is now officially a happy ending in store for them.
