Home and Away's Matt Evans moves out of flat with co-star after 'eventful few years'

Home and Away Theo Poulos star Matt Evans revealed he has moved out of his shared apartment with co-star Jacqui Purvis after an 'eventful' couple of years living together

Home and Away star Matt Evans has moved out of the apartment he rented with co-star Jacqui Purvis.

Matt, who portrays Theo Poulous, struck up a friendship with Felicity Newman actress Jacqui when he joined the Channel 5 soap a few months after her in 2021.

The pair became roomies that same year and lived in their Aussie pad together for nearly three years before their lease ran out

Matt explained he felt it was the right time for him to leave as he wanted to focus on writing music in his own place.

"I had lived with her for three years and then one month ago I moved out on my own," the actor exclusively told Daily Star.

"I've been wanting to live by myself for a long time now because I wanted to write music and do what I want to do."

He added: "I've always wanted to have my own space and now it's really nice. I'm in an apartment just 10 minutes down the road from the studio so I can walk to work

You wouldn't see it from the exterior, you'd think I'm more extroverted but I am quite introverted and I need to recharge and write music and be by myself."

"It was an eventful few years, he laughed before joking: "There's s**t everywhere!"

Matt explained their living situation worked so well because he had very few scenes with Jacqui on screen.

"No it was quite chilled. It was easy. I didn't really act with her a lot so I think that was the saving grace. I feel like if we had to go to work with each other every day then that would be too much," he said.

Matt went on to say: "But that was how it worked for so long. It was good. It was different, that's for sure. But now I come home to myself and I sit in the quiet and I love it!"

Moving out has allowed Matt to focus on his music, following the release of his single, Over It, in January.

Discussing his music career further, the Aussie star added: "I've had another single ready for ages but it's just been pushed back but hopefully we can get that out in the next one or two months.

"On the side I've been working towards an EP (Extended Play). So I've written about six or seven tracks and we're working towards an EP of maybe four to five tracks
