Home and Away newcomer Tristan Gorey teases life-or-death storyline

 Gorey has joined the soap as new character Dr Levi.

New Home and Away star Tristan Gorey has teased that his character will be involved in a 'life-or-death storyline' upon his arrival in Summer Bay.

Earlier this week it was announced that Gorey is joining the Australian soap as new character Dr Levi, a recently qualified Cardiothoracic Surgeon who will first be seen "racing to save a Home and Away favourite".

Now, speaking to 7 News, Gorey has teased more about what fans can expect from his character.

"Levi comes in during a really high-stakes storyline," he explained. "He's fighting to save the life of a central character. It's the start of a big storyline that will go on for a while and will certainly have fans gripped."

Dr Levi's arrival will come early next year for UK fans, while viewers in Australia will be introduced to him on next Tuesday's episode (November 7).

Home and Away has recently moved to the slightly earlier timeslot of 1pm on weekdays until the current series ends on Friday, November 17.

This change is due to Channel 5 beginning its festive coverage, with holiday films now airing from 1.30pm on weekdays as Christmas approaches.

The soap will be back in its usual 1.45pm weekday timeslot when the new series launches in the new year.

Home and Away will air weekdays at 1pm on Channel 5 until Friday, November 17 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6:30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
