Home and Away’s James Stewart speaks out as ‘funeral’ trailer shocks

 ‘I’m not crying, you are.’

Actor James Stewart has Home and Away fans waiting desperately to know the fate of his character Justin Morgan following a concerning new trailer.

The beloved character was seen in a critical condition with partner Leah, played by Ada Nicodemou, nervously seeing if he will recover.

The promo teased Leah sitting at a funeral, hinting to fans that perhaps Justin would not make it out of a coma.

Dr Bree (Juliet Godwin) also told Leah to “prepare for the worst”.

Amid the hype around the storyline, Stewart, 47, has spoken out about the tense moment and bringing the scenes to life.

From the moment Justin and Leah are kidnapped this storyline has been one of the most rewarding challenges I’ve got to shoot on Home and Away. And it’s not over yet,” Stewart told 7Life.

“Ada Nicodemou’s acting is so powerful and captivating in this storyline. The whole journey felt like we were shooting a film. It was quite special.”

After the teaser for the new episode was released, fans have taken to social media to express their concern about Justin.

“Don’t you dare die Justin Morgan!” one passionate fan said.

“I’m not crying, you are,” a second wrote.

“Wait, what? NOOOOO,” a user added.

“They can’t be killing Justin off? Surely,” another questioned.

“I hope Justin pulls through, they are the best couple,” added another fan.

James and Ada previously spoke about filming the storyline on The Morning Show after their characters were first kidnapped.

The storyline involved Leah (played by Ada) and Justin (played by James) winning a fancy holiday and preparing to have the time of their lives — but then they are kidnapped and locked up for days with no water, food or plumbing.

After Justin suffered a severe accident attempting to escape, Leah managed to free herself and asked a passing car for help.

The couple were rescued but Justin was left in a coma.

Ada teased she “hated” the dirt and make-up required for these scenes, telling the hosts, “I’ve said to the writers that’s it, from now on I can only look glamorous”.

“No, but you know, it was really great shooting this because we felt like we were doing a movie because it was just the two of us for weeks on end.”

Watch Home and Away on Channel 7 and 7Plus at 7pm AEST Monday to Thursday nights.
