Home and Away has confirmed DS Madden's corruption with a new clue.

Madden has been heading up the police search for Dana Matheson, who has been framed by her ex-boyfriend Olly for his drug offences.

Cash Newman has recently clashed with DS Madden, as he publicly questioned the facts around Dana's case. Madden has tried dismissing Cash's concerns, all the while gathering secret information on him.

In scenes that have aired in Australia and will soon arrive on UK screens, Cash has kept up a charade of his own since he knows Dana is secretly staying with Irene Roberts.

Cash admits to Dana's sister Harper that while he's hopeful of making progress on the case, he's also been warned by DS Madden not to get directly involved.

When Cash secretly meets up with Dana to question her, she explains that she was having lunch with Harper on the day of the alleged crime.

Dana insists she told DS Madden about this, but it's nowhere to be seen in her witness statement. Cash suggests they check the CCTV from the restaurant as a way to prove her location.

Cash has more pressing problems when he supports Harper during her interview with DS Madden. The crooked cop warns both that he knows they're lying and promises that they're going to face serious consequences.

Cash next heads to the restaurant to check out the CCTV footage, in hopes of exhonerating Dana. Meanwhile, Dana is stunned to read in Olly's police statement that he's pinned everything on her.

Dana makes the risky decision to break cover by calling Olly to threaten that the evidence is on her side. Later, Cash arrives with Harper to confirm the CCTV footage proves the siblings were together on the day of the crime.

Unfortunately, Cash's attempt to prove Dana's innocence is foiled when he discovers someone has swiped the tapes before he could get to them.

Cash is shocked when he finds out Dana had inadvertently given Olly the head's up — though he realises that this must mean DS Madden and Olly are somehow connected.

He asks Dana to go back into deep cover at Irene's while he works to prove that DS Madden is corrupt. Can he clear Dana's name before DS Madden strikes again?
