Home and Away's Rose Delaney steps up search for her father
Rose makes a huge discovery about her dad's identity.
Home and Away's Rose Delaney will accelerate her search for her birth father on UK screens next week, as her curiosity about her own heritage grows.
In scenes that will air on Channel 5 in the UK next week, Rose's relationship with her half-brother Xander continues to be fraught, as he refuses to accept Rose's search for her biological father - a search that she was inspired to undertake after spending time with her boyfriend Mali Hudson's family.
Rose confides in supportive Mali about her hunt for her dad, explaining that she hasn't told Xander about the lead that she's found because she doesn't want to risk making waves with him before she has more information.
Later on, at the police station, Rose's curiosity gets the better of her and she looks up the records for Samuel Edwards - the man that she thinks could be her dad.
When Rose is caught red-handed by her colleague Cash Newman, she spills her secret: Samuel was born in Cape Town, and so she could be half-South African.
However, Rose also finds a marriage certificate and realises that Samuel was definitely married at the time that she was conceived.
When a phone call to her and Xander's mum is met with resistance, the truth seems to be confirmed - Samuel Edwards must be her dad.
Later on, Rose is still reeling from her discoveries about her biological dad, and she confides in Mali and Kirby Aramoana about how she envies their attachments to their culture. When she hears them talk about their heritage, she becomes hungry to know more about her own.
Soon, Rose is pulling up outside a lavish home, looking at an address scrawled on a pad. Is Rose about to meet her father for the first time?
Star Kirsty Marillier recently spoke about the arrival of Samuel in the soap, revealing that she was thrilled to have the chance to work with actor Bert LaBonte, who plays him.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
