Hollyoaks star Dawn Hope reveals future for Pearl and Jack

"She wants to be wined and dined."

Hollyoaks viewers have seen teens Dillon and Lucas attempt to play matchmaker with Pearl Anderson and Jack Osborne this week, and their efforts pay off as next week the pair share a kiss in the middle of the pub.

Dawn Hope, who plays Pearl, has opened up to Inside Soap magazine about this new romance, saying: "Now they're together, they need to figure out what that looks like."

On what Pearl sees in Jack, Dawn added: "Being mature, you go through processes in life of how you date. How you want to be treated grows more prevalent – and chivalry goes a long way when you're over a certain age as a woman. So when chivalry turns up in the shape of Jack, it kind of wrong foots Pearl and she goes, oh, that's nice!".

Things almost come to a halt before it can even get going when Jack slips up by telling someone that he and Pearl are just friends.

"She's expecting him to say that she's his new lady love, so it wrong-foots her," explained Dawn.

"Pearl realises she needs to make a declaration," she continued. "So she has to lead him into it a bit with the kiss – although Jack goes with it, and is very happy! A big whoop goes up around them, it's a beautiful moment."

On what the future might hold, Dawn said: "Pearl's very forward – she wants the whole package. She wants to be wined and dined, she loves to get dressed up for fancy dinners. So as much as Pearl loves chivalry, she also wants to hurry things along a bit."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
