Hollyoaks producer Lucy Allan to leave soap

 All change in the village.

Hollyoaks' executive producer Lucy Allan has decided to leave the soap after two and a half years in charge.

Lucy took over as the Channel 4 show's executive producer at the start of 2021. Her predecessor Bryan Kirkwood stood down at the end of 2020.

Managing directors of Lime Pictures, Kate Little and Claire Poyser, said: "We would like to thank Lucy for everything she has done for Hollyoaks, leading the programme through Covid and its aftermath, forging a ground-breaking partnership with the BBC and Eurovision and delivering unforgettable, critically acclaimed storylines such as Misbah’s Rape and The Long Walk Home.

"We will miss her but wish her all the very best in her next adventure."

Lucy added: "I have loved my time as executive producer on Hollyoaks. It’s one of the most exciting jobs in Soapland but after two and half years at the helm it’s time to pass on the baton."

During her stint as producer on Hollyoaks, Lucy has overseen a wide range of important and hard-hitting storylines such as the Eric incel plot and the highly-acclaimed 'The Long Walk Home' episode.

Lucy initially began working on Hollyoaks in 2008 as deputy producer. She has also previously held the assistant producer and producer roles for spin-offs Hollyoaks: No Going Back and Hollyoaks Later.
