Neighbours star Olympia Valance shares pain after miscarrying twins
Neighbours star Olympia Valance has opened up about the pain she experienced after miscarrying twins.
The actress, best known for her role as Paige Smith in the Australian soap, spoke about her ordeal on Instagram, revealing to her followers that she and her husband, Thomas Bellchambers, would love to become parents, but ended up losing twins during the Coronavirus pandemic.
‘Thomas and I miscarried twins, right in the middle of Covid, which as you can imagine was excruciatingly painful’, she said.
‘Since then, we haven’t been able to conceive. That would be two years of really trying. For any woman or couple trying to get pregnant, there is no worse pain than every month looking down at that negative pregnancy test. Your heart breaks in two.’
After also speaking about how she currently doesn’t want to go down the IVF route, due to the increase in hormones, she concluded: ‘I want babies and I will do everything in my power to get them.’
Understandably, Olympia received many kind and wonderful comments on the post. Some offered support and sent their love, while others opened up about their experiences with conceiving.
‘Sending you both so much love! We have our beautiful miracle son, Asher. He is now 2 yrs old and is the amazing! It has been such a tough journey to get our little boy but gee it is worth all the needles, heartache and pain to experience the miracle of our son being born’, one follower said.
Another wrote: ‘From an IVF warrior & miscarriage survivor… Thankyou ❤️ your vulnerability will help so many on this horrible, lonely journey. My rainbow turns 1 in a little over a week.’
Olympia, 30, played Paige on the Aussie soap across various stints, making her debut back in 2014.
Paige first departed Erinsborough in 2018, but the character made a short comeback in 2020, as part of the show’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
