Hollyoaks airs frustrating Rayne outcome after Peri's allegations

 Will Rayne's actions catch-up with her?

Hollyoaks has aired a frustrating cliffhanger for Rayne Royce, after Peri Lomax discovered she was lying about her recent health scare.

Struggling with mounting jealousy in the run up to Juliet Nightingale's funeral, Rayne claimed to have discovered a lump on her body in order to receive attention from her boyfriend Romeo.

However, Peri soon discovered that Rayne had been lying about the lump and her hospital appointments. Peri later confronted the influencer about her lies in front of the entire Nightingale family after Donna-Marie's shock overdose.

In tonight's (July 7) first-look episode it was revealed that Romeo had chosen to believe his girlfriend's version of events.

The episode opened with Romeo struggling to understand how Peri had come to the conclusion that Rayne had lied about having a lump. However, the influencer was keen to forget the matter, telling her boyfriend that they should instead focus on visiting Donna-Marie in hospital.

At the hospital, Rayne took the opportunity to urge everyone to be kinder and more understanding of each other after the overdose.

The group were interrupted by Peri who was at the hospital in the hopes of getting her job as a nurse back. Donna-Marie was quick to pick up on the tension between the trio.

Romeo revealed that Peri still believed that Rayne was lying about the lump, with Peri firing back that Rayne lied about the situation.

Maybe you weren't getting enough attention on the run-up to his sister's funeral," Peri accused, before Romeo demanded that she leave.

Later on, Peri returned home to find Rayne stood outside her front door.

"I think it's time we sorted things out once and for all, don't you?" she said, smirking.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
