Former Home and Away star Luke Jacobz and new wife Raychel expecting first child

Former Home and Away star Luke Jacobz and his new wife Raychel Stuart have announced they are expecting their first child.

The surprise comes just weeks after the couple tied the knot in Sydney’s Centennial Park on June 3.

The actor best known for playing Angelo Rosetta on the Channel 7 soap, made the announcement via an Instagram post Tuesday morning.

“2023 has been quite the year!” he began.

“Wedding in June and a baby in November!

“We already have so much love in our home and can’t wait to welcome our bundle of joy.

“I’m so in awe of my incredible wife! She’s doing such a great job!

After announcing the news, Jacobz appeared on The Morning Show to give his first interview about the development, revealing that he and his wife had been trying to grow their family for some time.

“Raychel and I are having a baby! We are so so excited, we’ve been trying for quite a while so the news happened after we planned the wedding,” he explained Tuesday morning.

“We said, ‘We’re not going to reschedule the wedding just because Raychel is pregnant,’ so anyway we’re thrilled.”

He explained that “poor Raychel had this beautiful designer dress for the wedding” however she was unable to wear it due to her growing baby bump.

“She had to get another dress for the wedding but she looked amazing,” the actor shared.

“We’re expecting in November!”

The baby and wedding news comes after the couple had to cancel their nuptials twice due to the pandemic, with the actor previously admitting he was not sure the day would come.

“So our day finally happened. 499 days apart, third attempt and we are finally MARRIED,” Jacobz began in an Instagram post on July 5.

“I am so proud to be married to my best friend. We have been through so much and now we can enjoy the rest of ours lives as Husband and Wife!”

He went on to call the day “magical” as he shared photos from the celebration.

The duo had first announced their engagement in 2018.

Jacobz and Stuart wed in Sydney’s Centennial Park, with Stuart walking down the aisle next to Jacobz’s stepfather John, they told

“It was a really special moment.”

Both the bride and groom had lost their fathers and Stuart’s brothers were not able to attend the wedding, remaining in the US.

“I was a mess,” Jacobz said of the wedding, “When I saw Raychel I just lost it because we’ve been waiting so long for it to happen.”

“I ended up using all the tissues, and not Raychel which was part of the plan.”

The couple celebrated after the ceremony at their favourite Indian restaurant, Lavendra in North Sydney.

Jacobz and Stuart met in 2017 and were forced to spend 16 months apart due to international travel restrictions during the pandemic.

Stuart eventually completed 14 days in Sydney quarantine to see her partner in person.

“She’s finally here!!! After 499 days apart! I am reunited with the love of my life!!” Jacobz wrote on social media in June 2021.

“The very first day Raychel came to Australia, we did the @bridgeclimb at night! So we are doing it again today!! The sun is out and we can’t wait!!!”

On November 11 2020, Jacobz shared an emotional post on the day that was meant to be their wedding day.

“Right now it’s 11.11am on 11/11/2020. Today, I was supposed to Marry the Love of my Life. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has forced us to postpone,” he wrote. “This year has been incredibly difficult for us because we haven’t seen each other since 22nd January - 294 Days or 7,055+hrs, which is 423,400+ minutes since I have held her hand, brushed the hair back over her ear, looked into her eyes, made her coffee, picked her up and hugged her, slapped her butt, slow danced with her, made her breakfast in bed, opened the car door for her, raced her up the stairs with her, given her the pickle off my burger, shared popcorn with her, watched Jeopardy with her, held her face and kissed her ...”
