Home and Away's Marilyn Chambers turns to Alf after new crisis
She is now facing legal action...
Marilyn Chambers will turn to Alf Stewart on Home and Away next week in scenes airing in Australia, following a new crisis.
The hairdresser has been locked in a battle with Stunning Organics recently in an attempt to expose their fraudulence, but the feud will take a turn next week on Australian screens after the company sues her (via TV WEEK).
Marilyn has been in a spot of bother ever since her partnership with the company, with a particular sticking point of their collaboration being the fact that Marilyn has to reimburse for any unsold products.
After Roo ended up in hospital after testing one of the products, Marilyn realised she had made a grave mistake, but refused to admit her mistake to Alf despite the fact he had previously warned her about pyramid schemes.
Wishing to take matters into her own hands, Marilyn decides to film herself for a video in which she condemns the company, but they quickly warn her with the threat of legal action for defamation should she not take the video down from social media.
Feeling like she's been backed into a corner, Marilyn eventually confides in Alf and admits her wrongdoing, and he offers to support her should she be engaged in a legal battle…
Speaking about her character's storyline, actress Emily Symons revealed that Marilyn would be upset and overwhelmed by the latest developments, saying: "Marilyn went into it [the partnership] with confidence and enthusiasm, so to find she's been tricked and now has to sell all this product is overwhelming and upsetting.
"She feels embarrassed and that she's dragged her friends into something she didn't understand. She's absolutely horrified – for herself and for Kirby. It's incredibly important to her to have Alf's support. It makes it a little easier for her to deal with, but it's still a pretty bad situation."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
