Home and Away's John Palmer left upset after Dean and Ziggy's departures
He questions his friendship with the couple.
Home and Away's John Palmer is left with hurt feelings on UK screens next week as he learns that Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni left town without saying goodbye to him.
John is livid when he arrives at the Surf Club and finds a half-hearted "so long" message that Dean wrote for him before leaving the Bay.
Dean and Ziggy said their farewells last week after deciding to move to Far North Queensland. This allowed Dean to maintain a close relationship with his young son Jai, who had just moved to Queensland with his mum Amber.
Although John often bickered with the couple, he'd also been a loyal friend to them on numerous occasions during their time in the Bay.
John takes his hurt feelings out on Mali Hudson, who has just taken over from Dean at the Board Shop.
Mali sees how much John is struggling and goes out of his way to be friendly.
Despite this, John puts his guard up and declares that he's not going to be friends with any Surf Club colleagues in future if he's going to be treated like this.
Mali tries his best to get John to see sense, but John doubles down and vows that he won't be made a fool of again.
Not one to give up easily, Mali brings John coffee and then pizza in the hope of lifting his spirits.
The pain is still too raw for John, who pushes Mali away both times. But will Mali's persistence ultimately pay off?
