Hollyoaks' Peri gets good news after hospital outburst

Peri had been banned from the hospital.

Hollyoaks' Peri Lomax received some good news tonight (May 2) following her outburst at the hospital.

Peri's girlfriend Juliet Nightingale is battling cancer and the couple recently returned to the village from Birmingham, where they had gone so Juliet could continue her cancer treatment away from her family's drama.

Following their return to the village, Peri got Juliet involved with Romeo and Rayne's Eurovision party so that her girlfriend could enjoy herself. But things went wrong when Juliet contracted norovirus from Peri (who wasn't wearing a mask) and ended up hospitalised.

Feeling guilty, Peri tried to hand in her resignation to hospital bosses but they refused, causing her to smash up the hospital's equipment in a fit of rage. Peri's outburst led to her not only being fired from the hospital, but banned from the premises as well.

On tonight's E4 first-look episode, Peri wasn't taking her hospital ban very well. In the morning she immediately tried to go see Juliet but her mum Leela pleaded with her not to go.

Nadira then arrived to tell Peri she'd been to see Juliet and she was doing well. But, while Leela thought that should be enough to satisfy her daughter, when her mum left Peri was still determined to go see her girlfriend.

Peri then went to the hospital with Nadira, first trying to disguise herself with a baseball cap and sunglasses. But Peri was immediately greeted by her former boss who asked what she was doing there.

Nadira then gave an impassioned speech, advocating for Peri and explaining she had an emotional reaction which was brought on by the stress of seeing the person she loves suffer.

Against all odds, Nadira's plea worked and just as Juliet was texting Peri to let her know how much she missed her, Peri appeared in her room. Peri said that Nadira had 'sweet talked' the doctor into letting her see her, though she wasn't able to get her job back.

"It's not about me, how are you?" Peri then asked Juliet. "Better now you're here," Juliet answered, as the couple had a sweet reunion.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
