Terminally ill Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo updates on cancer fight

 


Actor Johnny Ruffo has recently given fans an update on his progress as he undergoes more hospital visits following his terminal cancer diagnosis.

The former Home and Away star, who portrayed Chris Harrington, has been undergoing chemotherapy since he was told his brain cancer had returned unexpectedly in 2020.

He wrote at the time, ‘After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned.’

Though he vowed to ‘beat this sh*t disease again,’ an update in August last year confirmed that his diagnosis was terminal. 

Despite this awful news, Johnny is determined to live his life to the full alongside his partner Tahnee Sims. 

On his Instagram he shared what he described as a ‘Few snaps from life lately,’ along with the rollercoaster emoji.

Alongside pictures of himself and Tahnee enjoying a meal together and going to see Rod Stewart in concert there was also a picture that showed the other side of his life at the moment, as he is pictured on a hospital bed as he undergoes yet more tests or treatment – with a sandwich on his lap in case he gets peckish. 

Fans have rushed to show their support, with one saying ‘you are such an incredible amazing inspirational person stay strong keeps just remember we are all thinking about and we all love ❤️ and care about you.’ Johnny’s Home and Away co-star Kyle Pryor (Nate Cooper) adds ‘Love to you brother!’ with a punching fist emoji.

Johnny, who celebrated his 35th birthday in March, left his role in Home and Away, in which he played Chris Harrington, in 2016, and in 2018 he hinted that he could reprise the role as his character’s departure had been left open. But last year he shared the news that his cancer was terminal.
