Home and Away reveals danger for Xander Delaney in new scenes
Xander finds himself in danger after surfing.
Home and Away's Xander Delaney will find himself in a dangerous situation, as he struggles with his recovery after being attacked on duty.
Recent episodes in Australia saw Xander ambushed and savagely beaten while responding to a call in a remote area, with the assault leaving him hospitalised and his work partner Jamie tragically dying from his injuries.
Xander has since been wracked by survivor's guilt, with the paramedic becoming increasingly reckless in his actions after being discharged from hospital.
His relationship with his sister Rose has also become strained, with Rose struggling to watch Xander ignore his recovery and head down a self-destructive path.
This week's scenes in Australia will see Xander head out to surf against his sister's advice. However the decision will prove to be a potentially fatal one after he collapses on the sand due to immense pain.
With only Mali aware of Xander's decision to go surfing, concern grows when he doesn't return. But will Mali be able to find Xander before he succumbs to his injuries?
Actor Luke Van Os opened up on Xander's mental state, telling TV Week that the paramedic's grief has led him to act recklessly.
"Xander feels the loss of Jamie deeply, as well as the pain for Jamie's family," he said. "He wants to do everything possible to help them grieve… but he's also becomes a bit reckless."
Van Os went on to explain that Rose's concerns will lead to arguments between the pair, as she believes he isn't looking after himself properly.
"Rose is worried about Xander and his reckless attitude, especially while he needs to heal," he added.
These scenes will air in June on Channel 5 in the UK.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
