Home and Away airs update on former character in latest Australian episode

Home and Away has revealed some happy news for Jett James, who was last seen in the show nearly four years ago.

John Palmer was responsible for sharing the update in Thursday's episode on Channel 7 in Australia.

In a chat with his ex-wife Marilyn Chambers, an elated John revealed that their former foster child had got engaged to his girlfriend.

The revelation looked set to spark a new storyline for Marilyn as she and John discussed how to pitch in with the wedding costs.

In their chat, John told Marilyn: "He's proposed to Lindsey and she's said yes.

"I knew that this was on the cards when I was down – they were just smitten with each other. [Lindsey's] great – you two will get on like a house on fire."

John revealed that Jett and Lindsey had decided to go for a low-key wedding, preferring to spend their money on saving for a house deposit.

Although John admired Jett for being so sensible, he told Marilyn that he wanted to give the happy couple the best of both worlds by paying for the wedding.

John hinted that money was no object to him and they could refer to it as a gift from both of them.

Marilyn was determined to pay her fair share, but soon became worried about how she'd raise the money. She considered taking on more shifts at the Diner and seeking out a part-time job – but will she have any luck?
