Former Hollyoaks star Billy Price lands new soap role
He'll make his debut next week.
Former Hollyoaks star Billy Price has landed a brand new soap role following his exit as Sid Sumner last year.
The actor played the character for three years on the Channel 4 soap, and he's now hopping over to the BBC for a guest stint on Doctors.
Price will appear next week (March 8) on the show, playing the role of a teenager called Kyle Mainwaring for the episode 'Horse to Water'.
The actor's last scenes as Sid aired in October, as the character decided to head off for a fresh start by travelling, especially following his ordeal with drug dealer Victor Brothers.
While he won most of the village round with his plans, he still had to convince best friend Juliet Nightingale, with the pair rowing over his choice.
However, he managed to convince her in the end as they reflected on their friendship, and Sid promised he would be best man when she marries Peri Lomax.
At the time of his exit, the two weren’t together, though Sid predicted: "I've seen the way you look at each other. It's how I used to look at you. I'm just saying – I called it here first."
He then told her of leaving: "I'll always be known for the bad stuff. I thought joining the police would put all of that right, but no. Here I'll always be known as the messed-up kid. That's why I need to start again and you get that, right?"
Meanwhile, back in 2021 Price revealed that he came very close to joining another BBC soap, EastEnders, on two occasions.
