Neighbours confirms seven more huge returns for show revival on Amazon Freevee
Neighbours has confirmed the return of seven more major stars for the show’s upcoming revival on Amazon Freevee.
The beloved Aussie soap, which was controversially axed by Channel 5 last year, was resuscitated by Freevee in November, with new episodes expected in the second half of this year.
Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Stefan Dennis, who play Susan Kennedy, Karl Kennedy, Toadie Rebecchi and Paul Robinson respectively, having all signed on to take part in the sequel series and now a host of other familar faces have been confirmed.
Annie Jones, who played Jane ‘Plain Jane Superbrain’ Harris, will reprise her iconic role, as will Rebekah Elmaloglou (Terese Willis), Georgie Stone (Mackenzie Hargreaves), and Tim Kano (Leo Tanaka), who will all be considered series regulars.
The best news.
But that’s not at all, as iconic Harold Bishop will also stage a comeback, with actor Ian Smith recurring throughout the show’s run. April Rose Pengilly and Melissa Bell, who played Chloe Brennan and Lucy Robinson, will also have recurring roles.
The continuation of Neighbours – a soap about the lives, loves, and challenges of the residents on Ramsay Street in Erinsborough, Australia – follows the finale which aired on July 29 last year, watched by millions of fans in the UK, where it remains as popular as ever.
You don’t have to wait until the second half of 2023 to revisit Ramsay Street, however, as Freevee has also acquired thousands of classic outings of Neighbours, with the first batch having already hit the streaming service.
A selection of iconic episodes are currently on offer featuring some of the biggest stars, including Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth. In addition to this, the entire 2012 series of the show is also available to watch.
If that wasn’t enough good news, then you’ll be pleased to know that a season of Neighbours will launch ever month, as well as a number of free ad-supported streaming channels, including Neighbours: Looking Back, and Best of Neighbours, which will air continuously, much in the vein of an actual TV channel.
Neighbours will return for a new series on Amazon Freevee later this year. Stream classic episodes right now.
