Home and Away's Xander Delaney has date disaster in dramatic Salt scenes

 But has he really missed his chance at romance?

Next week on Home and Away, Xander Delaney is set for a date, but things quickly take a very serious turn.

In scenes set to air on Channel 5 in the coming days, Xander's got a date with newcomer Stacey lined up, and his sister Rose wants to know all the details. Xander tells Rose to stay out of his love life and heads out on the date, lying to her by saying he's going to a work colleague's party.

But as soon as Rose catches wind that Xander's really on a date at Mackenzie's restaurant Salt, she decides to go there, sitting across from him with a huge grin on her face.

Unfortunately, Xander's attempts to get rid of Rose before Stacey arrives fail. Once she turns up, Xander sends his sister packing.

That's when a seemingly drunk patient collapses, and Xander leaps into paramedic mode to help him out — something that will lead to a crisis of confidence for Mackenzie.

Stacey is impressed with Xander's heroism, but decides to call it a night there. Xander thinks it's a sign she doesn't want to continue to date him.

Xander is pleasantly surprised when Stacey turns up the next day and says that it was a definitely a date to remember, and that she's looking forward to the next one.

Is this the start of something between the two, or will Xander's worries about their spark fizzling out eventually come true?
