Johnny Ruffo shares a promising chemotherapy update
''It wasn’t easy...''
Johnny Ruffo has celebrated making it through another year of chemotherapy, just in time for the holidays!
The former Home and Away star took to Instagram to share an update on his cancer battle.
"Another year of chemotherapy done, It wasn't easy but I made it through," he wrote.
"Can't wait to have a few weeks break over Christmas & spend some well earned time with my family #f-ckcancer."
It has been a month since his last update, and his loved ones flooded the comment section with support.
Ada Nicodemou, who plays Leah Patterson-Baker on the Australian soap commented: "Well done!!! I hope you have a great Christmas."
"Well done for getting through this year!!!!! I hope you have a beautiful time with your fam over Christmas xxxx," Sarah Roberts wrote.
Home and Away alum Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts has been a major support system for Johnny amid his cancer battle.
"Hello darling. Stay well and see you soon."
In October, Johnny told TV WEEK that Lynne has "been amazing," he revealed: "She constantly checks in and asks how I'm doing. She always wants to go out for dinner."
"I can't stress enough how people like her help get through tough times. She's just a wonderful person. Having people like that to say 'Oh, how are you feeling this week?' and little sweet things like that make all the difference. It's a great support network."
Johnny has accredited his strength during chemotherapy to his incredible support network, especially his beautiful girlfriend Tahnee Sims who he even labeled his partner "the foundation" of support.
"I'd be lost without her," he gushed. "She's just everything."
"She comes home from work and she's probably so tired and just wants to have a break, and then she has me. She wants to try and make me smile.
"I don't know how she does it. I really don't."
Johnny has made a point of saying "we" when discussing his cancer battle and ongoing treatments, as Tahnee is also undergoing the process.
"I always say, 'Oh yeah, we've got chemo this week', 'we've got treatment', or 'we've got an appointment' about our cancer. I feel like she's going through this just as much as I am. And she's experiencing it just as much as I am. She's been the most incredible support."
