Home and Away's Justin Morgan reluctantly shares Marilyn Chambers' big secret on UK screens in the New Year.

The Summer Bay soap ended with a major cliffhanger on Channel 5 last month, as the final episode of 2022 saw Marilyn and her friends held captive by Heather Fraser.

Marilyn had spent weeks trying to conceal that she is Heather's mum, having been forced to give her up years ago. However, she did confide in her friend Leah Patterson, who went on to share the news with her partner Justin.

In scenes airing in January on Channel 5, Justin realises that he can keep the secret no longer as Marilyn, Leah, Irene Roberts and Alf Stewart all seem to be in terrible danger with Heather.

Justin becomes suspicious when he can't get hold of Leah after she disappeared for a mysterious brunch with Marilyn and Heather.

His worry grows when he finds out that Leah, Marilyn and Irene have all failed to turn up for work at the Diner.

Justin realises something is wrong, so he heads to the police station to raise the alarm about Leah and the others.

After the recent break-in at his house, Justin suspects that Heather is involved.

Wanting the police to take this seriously, Justin tells Rose Delaney and Cash Newman that Heather is Marilyn's daughter and may pose a threat.

The police team request a check on Heather's home address, but they're alarmed to hear back that the body of Heather's adoptive mother was found in a freezer on the property. The death is being treated as suspicious.

Justin, Rose and Cash are horrified as it dawns on them that Marilyn, Leah, Irene and Alf could be at the mercy of a dangerous killer.

Justin desperately tries to remember the name of the venue on Marilyn's brunch invitation and eventually recalls that it was Crestview.

This matches with the name of Heather's old boarding school, so Rose and Cash call for back-up and make their way there.

At the venue, Cash and Rose find Alf, Irene and Leah tied up in the dining room.

Alf is in a particularly bad way, struggling to breathe after having his drink spiked.

Heather stays one step ahead and drags Marilyn through the building, before forcing her to stand on the ledge of a second-storey balcony.

Home and Away returns in the UK on January 2, with episodes airing at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
