Home and Away star Matt Evans shares hopes for dramatic Theo stories
The actor hopes to challenge himself more in the future.
Home and Away star Matt Evans has opened up about his time on the soap, revealing that he hopes to see a dramatic storyline for Theo in the future.
Speaking to TV Week about wanting to challenge himself as an actor, Evans said: "My hope is that Theo is involved in more dramatic storylines, so I get to challenge myself more and learn to the best of my ability."
The singer and actor joined the soap as Theo Poulos back in 2021, having previously appeared on the Australian version of The Voice.
It's been a rollercoaster for Evans' character ever since he joined Summer Bay revealing that he had suffered abuse at the hands of his father Dimitri. Things have gotten better for Theo since the reveal of his character's emotional past, with him now living at his aunt Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou) and Justin Morgan's (James Stewart) house.
Theo also has a new relationship in the form of Kirby Aramoana and dreams of breaking into the music industry – which has seen Evans be able to utilise his musical skills on the show.
"My life has changed so much that I often need to take time to reflect on that so I can be grateful for what I have," he added.
Evans was complimentary about his working relationship with Nicodemou and Stewart, praising their support.
"Jimmy (James) and Ada are both such professionals," he said. "I've learnt everything I know from them. Of the cast, I'm closest with Jimmy. I get to work with him all the time, so we have an extensive relationship."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
