Hollyoaks star Owen Warner filmed extra scenes from Australia after I'm A Celebrity

"I got taken downstairs and they gave me a script."

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner didn't waste a single second while in Australia for I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

A fortnight after finishing the ITV reality show as runner-up to Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott, Warner stopped by the This Morning studio, where he revealed to Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond that he was working double-time out there.

Appearing on the show yesterday (13 December), the Romeo Nightingale actor said: "After you leave the jungle, your head is scrambled. Your head is all fuzzy. You don't know what's going on, you're carted here and there. Real life was too much, I was not ready for it.

"I got taken downstairs and they gave me a script and they were like, 'Right, learn this...' I was there doing a FaceTime and it took me some time to learn it and I was like, 'What is going on? I'm losing it.'"

As for how this ties into Romeo's Hollyoaks storyline – to account for Warner's time in Australia, Romeo will be going on holiday to Spain, so an exotically decorated video call would be perfect.

Warner has previously admitted to feeling overwhelmed by all of the support he's received since appearing on I'm a Celebrity.

"It's been crazy! Even to the point where I was in the top two with Jill – my mind couldn't comprehend there was all this support, all this love, I just never in a million years thought it [would] be like this," he said.

"And then coming out I had to take a little while to turn my phone on because just hearing people saying things was just a lot and I was just crying all the time.

"So many times, as soon as I got out, I took myself off and, I'm going to say it, had a little cry at how amazing it was. I love kind people and beautiful words and there was so much of that."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
