Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo discusses possible return to show
"I'd just waltz in."
Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo has discussed a possible return to the Australian soap opera.
Johnny made his Summer Bay debut back in 2013 as heartthrob Chris Harrington and departed three years later in 2016, but the actor has now revealed that he'd be up for reprising the role.
"I’d love to go back on Home and Away [and] spend some more time with Irene," he told Yahoo, referring to his former co-star Lynne McGranger’s character Irene Roberts
As for how he envisions his return?
"[I'd] just waltz in, like not tell anyone, just waltz on in and order a coffee. And Lynne — I mean Irene — would be like…Chris!"
"After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned. Though I will dig deep and beat this shit disease again," he wrote.
Johnny then revealed in August 2022 that his cancer had become terminal, saying at the time: "My goal now is to try and help as many people as I can and also live a happy life."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
