Home and Away's Ziggy Astoni to make a new discovery over her pregnancy

Home and Away's Ziggy Astoni gets a surprise as she attends her 12-week pregnancy scan on UK screens next week.

Ziggy and her boyfriend Dean Thompson recently discovered that they're expecting a baby together. This is Ziggy's first child, while Dean already has a young son, Jai, with his ex-girlfriend Amber Simmons.

In next week's episodes on Channel 5, Dean excitedly looks forward to the 12-week scan.

Ziggy has repeatedly warned that she doesn't want to spread their happy news until she has attended the important appointment, so Dean sees this as a milestone moment for their journey.

Dean gets more than he bargained for when he receives word that Ziggy has cancelled the scan without telling him.

He tries to contact Ziggy to find out more, but she doesn't answer his calls. Dean starts to worry that something bad could have happened.

When a calm Ziggy finally shows up, she reassures Dean that everything is fine and suggests they should go for a walk so she can explain.

During a heart-to-heart, Ziggy tells Dean that she's simply scared to discover that something could be wrong with the baby, even though she has no specific reason to be worried.

Dean is understanding, but convinces Ziggy that they're better off attending the scan rather than putting it off.

Visiting the hospital later in the week, Ziggy and Dean pretend that they got the date of their appointment wrong.

A staff member takes pity on the couple and squeezes them in for an ultrasound.

Ziggy and Dean are delighted to see their healthy baby on the screen, but they're also stunned when it's confirmed that the pregnancy is much further along than they first thought.

Ziggy is told that she's 18 weeks pregnant rather than 12. They're thrilled to realise that they'll be meeting their new arrival sooner than expected.

Returning home, Dean calls Jai to let him know that he's going to be a big brother. Dean and Ziggy also tell Justin Morgan and John Palmer, who are over the moon for them.
