Home and Away villain Jacob star’s life - co-star girlfriend to explosive cricket row

Home and Away recently welcomed brand new villain Jacob Cameron, wife of Dr Bree, to the Channel 5 soap – but what about actor Alex Williams’ real life away from the cameras?

Home and Away fans were recently introduced to a new villain on the Channel 5 soap – Jacob Cameron, husband to Dr Bree.

Played by Alex Williams, Jacob has been abusing his wife, with it quickly dawning on viewers that she is trapped in a bad situation.

But what about actor Alex’s real life? It’s definitely a far cry from his character’s, as he’s currently very loved up with his famous girlfriend, and enjoys an amateur sporting career along with acting.

From Hollywood roles in various film biopics to his unrecognisable transformation, Daily Star takes a deep dive into Alex’s life away from the cameras.

Hollywood fame.

Alex is best known for playing WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange

As well as Home and Away, Alex has put his name to several big-name blockbusters, first shooting to fame in 2012 in a biopic about Julian Assange.

Alex portrayed the WikiLeaks founder in Underground: The Julian Assange Story – and that isn’t the only famous person he’s put his face to.

In 2016, Alex took on the role of Australian motor racing driver John "Slug" Harvey in the miniseries Brock.

He’s also set to play iconic cricketer Shane Warne in upcoming biopic Warnie.

Famous girlfriend

Away from his Channel 5 soap career, Alex is very happily loved up with actress Indiana Evans.

Indiana played Matilda Hunter in Home and Away from 2004 until 2008, along with landing roles in everything from Thor: Love and Thunder to Ash vs Evil Dead later in her career.

Alex shares plenty of stunning snaps of the couple to his Instagram, with fans branding them a “beautiful couple” on a regular basis.

They also share a furry friend together, a black cat called Gnocchi.

Praising his beau on her birthday, Alex wrote: “Happy Birthday Indiana!

“Let’s face it… 80% of people who follow me on here only really want pictures of Indiana…

“The other 20% want delicious Gnocchi content. Indiana just wants Gnocchi!”

Alex sweetly branded Indiana “my love” during the 2021 lockdown, admitting: “Lockdown is never too bad with company like this.”

Cricket row

The actor is set to play Shane Warne in an upcoming drama

It seems Alex might be drawing on his own sporting knowledge to take on the role of Shane Warne in his new TV show.

He’s a keen cricketer himself, playing for Mount Lawley Ingelwood Panthers.

But it hasn’t all been plain sailing, as his new programme has attracted complaints from Warne’s family.

His daughter Brooke Warne was left fuming at Channel Nine when the news broke, writing: “Do any of you have any respect for Dad? Or his family? Who did so much for Channel Nine and now you want to dramatise his life and our family’s life 6 months after he passed away?

“You are beyond disrespectful.”

Channel Nine later insisted the family have “offered their support” for the two-part series.

Since appearing in Underground: The Julian Assange Story in 2012, Alex has undergone a complete image overhaul and now looks totally different.

The Perth-born actor used to sport nearly shoulder-length blonde hair which fell in a floppy style around his face.

Now, Alex has opted for a shorter crop to his hair and exposed his strong jawline in a series of headshots taken before his Home and Away stint.

The muscular star can be seen in a grey t-shirt which brings out the bright blue in his eyes as he stares at the camera.
