Home and Away confirms Australian season finale details

The end-of-year cliffhanger is almost upon us.

Home and Away has confirmed further details of its Australian season finale episode.

The Summer Bay soap has already finished up for the year on Channel 5 for UK viewers, but the drama is continuing for Australian fans for a few more days.

The 2022 season will come to a close on Channel 7 on Monday, November 28.

As with previous years, the network has scheduled in a specially-extended 90-minute episode to finish the year with. This will run from 7pm to 8.30pm.

The official synopsis reads: "Eden stays strong for Remi. Ziggy and Dean struggle to fit in at birthing class. Cash opens his heart to Eden. The bride is driving towards disaster."

Several ongoing storylines look set to reach a climax in the must-see episode.

Recently-released promo footage hinted that Remi will be held captive in frightening scenes coming up, sparking speculation that Bree Cameron's abusive husband Jacob could be responsible.

Cash's chemistry with Eden has also led to a "will they / won't they?" plot in recent months, after a series of casual hook-ups.

Felicity has been keen to play matchmaker between the pair, but her meddling hasn't gone down well so far.

Meanwhile, Felicity is due to tie the knot with Tane Parata, but their big day is expected to be rocked by a car crash disaster.

Home and Away takes an extended break in November each year in Australia, usually returning in late January or early February for the new season. UK viewers get an earlier return date at the start of January on Channel 5, which runs episodes several weeks behind the Australian broadcasts.

A synopsis for the 2023 season previously teased: "Next year promises to be another unmissable year in Summer Bay, with the lives and loves of Australia's most iconic beachside community thrown into turmoil in the wake of a tragedy that will send shockwaves throughout the Bay.

"The high-octane season return will see new arrivals and surprise faces from the past set to shake things up."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
